343 Industries, often abbreviated colloquially as "343i," is a video game developer wholly owned by Microsoft Corporation and responsible for taking over the Halo Universe of games (including both already-released games as well as development of future Halo titles, books, comic books, and other media) following the completion of Bungie's relinquishment of control over the Halo Universe on March 31, 2012.

343i was established in Kirkland, Washington in late 2007 by Microsoft as Bungie Inc.'s employees bought ownership of Bungie back from Microsoft. Because Microsoft retained ownership of the rights to the Halo Universe, 343i was created by Microsoft to oversee the development of future Halo titles, books, comic books, and other media.

In 2008, former Bungie employee Frank O'Connor (Frankie) was named to head up 343i, leaving Bungie and taking the title of "Franchise Director" for 343i, overseeing all projects. A few other former Bungie employees joined 343i as well.

343i's first project was Halo Waypoint, a stat-tracking application for the XBox 360 and Windows Phone that allows players to view a variety of statistics, fileshare items (such as screenshots and in-game videos), and other media for all Halo games.

343i has also overseen the publication and production of numerous Halo-related books, graphic novels, comic books, toys, and media.

343i is released its first full-feature video game, Halo 4, a heavily marketed AAA-caliber title which released on November 6, 2012.

343i has released Halo: The Master Chief Collection, on November 9th, 2014 (like wise for Halo 2's 10th birthday). It included Halo Combat Evolved, Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary Campaign only, Halo Combat Evolved original Multiplayer online for the 1st time, Halo 2, Halo 2 original Multiplayer on console for the 1st time in years, Halo 2 Anniversary Multiplayer (7 remastered maps) and ports of Halo 3, and Halo 4.

343i is also releasing another game, Halo 5: Guardians, in late 2015.
