Bungie Ride-Alongs were introduced by DeeJ in December 2011 as a way to keep Bungie involved with its community during Bungie's "darkness" period before Bungie announced Destiny.

In the Ride-Alongs, DeeJ and other Bungie employees would play online multiplayer video games with various Bungie Community groups and, occasionally, the community at large. When the community at large would be involved, DeeJ or a leader of the Group would create a thread in the Community Forum on Bungie.net to invite members to join the game on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ride-Alongs typically occurred on Mondays or Tuesdays, and involved numerous online multiplayer games, including Halo: Reach, Halo 3, Minecraft, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and Battlefield 3, and more.
