Claude Errera is the founder and webmaster of Bungie.org. Errera goes by the user name Louis Wu, the name of a character from the book Ringworld, a major inspiration source of Bungie for the Halo series.

His devotion to Bungie and Halo earned him a significant amount of recognition by Bungie and 343 Industries and he is often considered the "godfather" of the Halo community.

Errera gained significant recognition during Bungie's Myth and Halo days, being invited to Bungie Fanfests, and even appearing in Bungie's Halo 2's documentary hosting a LAN party at his house and discussing the Halo multiplayer matches he holds with his friends. He was also given both the Recon armor (before it became publicly available through the Vidmaster Challenges) and a one-of-a-kind "Pro" nameplate by Bungie for Halo 3.

He was also featured in Bungie's twenty-year anniversary ViDoc, O Brave New World. 343 Industries' annual Claude Errera Community Award was named in honor of Errera, and he was also the first recipient of the award at the first Halo Fest during PAX Prime 2011.

There are also several references to Errera in the Halo games. There is a character, Corporal C. Errera, named after him in the Conversations from the Universe booklet. In Halo: Reach, a nightclub in New Alexandria is named "Club Errera" in reference to Claude. Also, the Tribute Room in the level The Package contains a terminal dedicated to him and HBO. One of the human troopers in the game is also named C. Errera, possibly being the same soldier mentioned from Conversations.
